Long Time, No Posts

Marco and I haven't had internet access in quite some time; hence the long break in our journal. However, things on the farm continue to keep us busy.

Minnesota has officially plunged into winter the past week. We've had two snow storms and a bout of freezing rain that left all the roads coated in glassy, slippery, hazardous, black ice. The goats are no longer interested in escaping from the barn corral. Instead, they stick close to their shelter, avoiding the biting wind and wet, snowy weather. They all look fuzzy in their winter coats. The chickens no longer venture outside; but are staying in their coop preening themselves carefully.

Marco continues to harvest firewood when the weather isn't too treacherous. We have five piles of wood which will last us. However, Marco figures it doesn't hurt to keep up our collection. This picture was taken before winter hit...obviously. It was the wood collection before we split it.
