Marco and I continue to be busy on the farm. We've been taking care of the animals, hauling water out to their grazing area, regrouping the goats whenever they get out and scratching George and Claudette - our donkeys - under their chins as much as possible. Our chickens are adjusting to the cooler weather and are continuing to give us 4 to 5 eggs a day!
Over the Thanksgiving holiday we were busy preparing holidays pies that had been preordered during our September open house. We made two pumpkin and two apple pies. During Thanksgiving Marco and I made a pumpkin and apple pie for our holiday meal and they were delicious. I'm very proud of my pie crusts; I've become comfortable with the crust edges, crinkling them so they look like the real deal.
The house is bustling with holiday cheer. We have more family around and just put up a Christmas tree in our living room. We always buy a real tree and the minute it arrived in the living room, the house smelled like instant-Christmas. Marco and I decided we always want to have a pine tree up in the house - year-round!
Now all we need is a little Christmas snow and we'll be set...but I guess it can hold off until December 24th.
